RENTED ROOM
Where have you gone?
Where are you all?
I can’t see clearly enough
For this room is full of darkness
And the darkness full of lack.
No more cartoons on the tv
And not a single cry
Not my children and their laughter
Not a single sound at all.
Now I still keep this rented house
A rented room with rented mouths
Sending shivers when I listen
To the silence there is now.
Another railroad sad farewell
I can’t stand them too much, so well
When I’m waving hands and kisses
To that train I’ll never get
And so is the loneliness they rent:
Deserted rooms where I will dwell.
And although I pay my money
I can’t put my mind to rest.
So where have you gone?
Where are you all?
