USCO Wizard also available for Free Accounts
Our wizard is an easy way to register works at the US Copyright Office. The service, which used to be a feature for professional and corporate accounts only, will be available for basic free accounts starting this month.
Works can be uploaded to USCO one by one, which is the usual procedure using the Office’s own electronic registration system, eCO. There is also the option to register several works at once, as long as they are the same type of work and there is some connection between them.
In order to register works at USCO, authors have to pay certain fees and management costs to the Office. There is more information about the cost at the accounts’ comparative table.
To register a single work
First of all, go to “My Registrations” and click on the work which you intend to register at USCO. Inside the column on the left-hand side you will see “External services” and in there “US Copyright Office”.
Register several works at once at USCO
From “My Registrations” select all the works you intend to register. These must all be the same of the same kind: photographies, songs from the same album, or several related texts. In case there is no connection between the works, USCO may reject the registration request. Next, click on “Manage selected” and choose among the available options “Register at the US Copyright Office”. The registration wizard will appear.
